Good With Style is my guiding principle. It describes my belief that it is possible to be GOOD, in the ethical sense, and still have STYLE.
For me, Good With Style encompasses the following traits:
Ethical: No person, animal, or earthly item is harmed
Thrifty: There is a element of accessibility, it is available to anyone regardless of their socio-economic status
Chic: The basic design principles are followed; it has style and timeless appeal

I used to work in marketing and branding, first for a fashion company (Donna Karan New York), then for a magazine (Vanity Fair Magazine), and after that for a lifestyle company (Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc.). Somewhere in there I also worked as a New Media Consultant with television stations and web sites (during the first Internet boom, pre-2001). I was a freelance writer (I wrote for American Cheerleader, but I was never a cheerleader). Then I wrote a book about weddings, and it became a part of a big trend called the Green Movement (Eco Chic Weddings). I also started a blog with the same name. The blog became so popular that a lot of the blog's readers didn't even know I had written a book. In 2008 I wrote a book for Popular Mechanics about making green changes around the home (When Changing A Light Bulb Just Isn't Enough.) I just finished writing/producing a third book, Eco Chic Home, which will be available in Spring 2010. This book was really labor-intensive--I came up with over 60 design projects. Each project fits the same profile: chic, purposeful, affordable, easy, and made from an everyday material that can be remade into a brand new item for your home. Some of the items include a rug, cake stands, and lamps. I found inspiration and ideas from all over the web, from magazines, books, friends, family--basically, everywhere. I will share more ideas here on this blog, as well as some of my most inspiring sources.
I used to have a web site, with a lot of information about my career, including my work as a trend spotter, copywriter, copy editor, and the press coverage my weddings book and blog received. You can read more below:
