There are many perfectly lovely, perfectly simple wedding dresses that I would consider to be eco-chic... you just have to know where to look. I love what Christina Dalle Pazze has created with her beautiful company, Simple Silhouettes. Many brides find their way to her salon because of the practical and beautiful bridesmaid dresses, but her bridal gowns are also  sublime. I've spoken with Christina about using eco-friendly fabrics in her line, and she is totally into it. But, I think the most important reason to order a dress fomr someone like Christina is that you will know that your dress is sweatshop free...

That's a quote from the grand dame of fashion, Coco Chanel. I would also add the work "fair" to that statement, as in "fair trade".  We've all flipped through the thick bridal magazines replete with bridal gown advertisers...do you ever wonder who makes those dresses, and what their quality of life is?  Simple Silhouettes is based here in New York, in a beautiful sunny loft in the middle of SoHo....definitely eco-chic!
