I love Anna Maria Horner's designs, and she has great bundles of fabric that you make good use of. Maybe you could sew some sweet little pouches for your friends, or use them as colorful napkins on your tables. The beautiful little favors with paper flowers were featured at a wedding shot by Huckleberry Karen.

Inspiration hit me when I came across this cute-able (cut + adorable = cuteable) purse on Etsy's Valerie's Vintage shop...
A Papagallo Bag! Or is it a Bermuda Bag? Whatever you called it, you may have had one of these back in the 80's, and maybe like me you changed that damn cover everytime you changed your outfit...So, relevance to Eco-Chic Weddings? Wouldn't this make a sweet handmade, reuseable bridesmaid gift? Check out the DIY deets in my post over at the Indie Wedding Guide...we have some great ideas brewing for you on the Guide, so stay tuned for more.
I cam across these phtoos from Hayley Bird's blog. They are photos from her sister's wedding (I hope they don't mind that I have them here...)
This is a perfectly perfect representation of what I think is an eco-chic wedding...
Hand sewn, homegrown, and yummy, warm wonderfulness...right down to the buttercream frosting on the quilt flanked cake...
Maybe it's the cynic in me that finds these wallets hilariously funny. I think they'd be a great lighthearted gift for a girl or a guy--your friends, fiance, or maybe even your groovy parents. Certainly there's someone in your life who would appreciate the ironic humor of Paris House.
And on a side note, I have to laugh at all of the hoopla about having a "Green Wedding." It's like a whole new industry within the wedding machine has sprung up...Which I guess is okay, but not exactly what I had in mind. I really just want to inspire a shift in how wedding planning is approached, and communicate the message that it should be fun and creative and not like a freight train that comes crashing through your life. And since it's a time when a lot of money is spent, we might take a look at where our dollars are going...that's it...kind of simple, right? So let's remember to keep it simple...xo
here's where to go for some simple stuff:
Outpost Hokianga
The Succulent Wife
The Paris Flea Market
Some nice ideas for your flower girls--send them floating down the aisle with these faerie crowns. The flowers are made from fabric remnants, and I couldn't imagine a little girl in the world who wouldn't be over the moon to wear one of these pretty creations. Tamar Schechner has other pretty things too.
Rebe mother and daughter team put the chic in eco-chic...bravo...
